Here at the Golden Star we're all about warm welcomes, great drinks and delicious food. Most importantly we're all about you.

When you step into our bar you'll be guaranteed a smile, some friendly chat and of course a great selection of draught and bottled drinks. We have a wide range of spirits to refresh or warm you up and always a good choice of guest ales on offer.

Great atmosphere

Most people come into the Golden Star to socialise and with a good mix of regulars and not so regulars you'll find it the perfect drinking environment. We even provide a wide selection of bar games, just in case you fancy making a competitive night of it.

We have two bars and a beer garden so if you'd prefer to stay on your own and enjoy a well deserved drink at the end of the day there is ample choice of places to sit. Whether you wish to read the day's newspaper or people watch, you can relax and do so with the comfort of a good drink.

We like to think that our pub is a great place to be any day of the week but sometimes it's just that extra but special. Live music from home grown bands, one of the best Sunday night quizzes in the city and a mix of groups to get involved in including our famous bar billiards league.
